Recent events in Manipur have brought to light a series of brutal attacks perpetrated against the Kuki-Zo community by elements within the Meitei community. The atrocities described include decapitations, burnings, and other forms of extreme violence. These acts, captured in graphic images and videos, paint a chilling picture of the horrors faced by the Kuki-Zo people.
The graphic nature of the content serves as a stark reminder of the depths of human cruelty and the urgent need for action to address the underlying causes of such violence. While these images and videos may be difficult to witness, they underscore the importance of raising awareness and advocating for justice on behalf of the victims.

Rev. Dr. S. Chongloi, Principal of Restoration Theological College and recently appointed as Assistant Executive Secretary of Kuki Christian Church Manipur Synod in Imphal, Manipur, has brought to light disturbing video footage and images that demand global attention.
The footage allegedly captures the aftermath of a horrific attack on a Kuki-Zo Christian village, implicating both local police and the Indian Army.
According to reports, the attack resulted in the deaths of two men, purportedly caused by bombs detonated by local military officers.
Even more disturbingly, the victims were then subjected to decapitation and mutilation, with the entire gruesome process filmed by Meitei militants.
These videos were subsequently shared on social media platforms, not only to celebrate their perceived victory but also to instill fear among the local Kuki-Zo Christian community.
A recent heinous attack on two Kuki village volunteers in the Phailengmol area of Kangpokpi district on 13th April has shocked the conscience of humanity. Orchestrated by a combined force involving Meitei militants, Manipur Police, and Commandos, under the umbrella of the N. Biren Singh-led state government, this barbaric act has left a scar on the collective soul of Manipur.
The mutilation of the victims’ bodies and the subsequent display of their body parts by the perpetrators is an affront to human dignity and a stark reminder of the depths of depravity to which some are willing to sink. The reprehensible nature of this act calls for immediate accountability and justice, which have regrettably been absent in Manipur for far too long.
The Kuki-Zo people faced further indignity and intimidation in the aftermath of the brutal attack, as they were reportedly denied the opportunity to collect the remains of their loved ones for burial. This callous act, prolonging the agony of grieving families, serves as a stark reminder of the systematic efforts to instill fear and exert control over the community.
The deliberate obstruction of burial rites not only compounds the trauma experienced by the Kuki-Zo people but also constitutes a grave violation of their fundamental rights and dignity. Such actions underscore the urgent need for intervention and accountability to prevent further atrocities and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
It is deeply distressing that such atrocities are carried out with impunity, allegedly under the protection of the state government. The deliberate targeting of individuals based on their ethnicity is a flagrant violation of human rights and an egregious display of hate-fueled violence.
In the face of such abhorrent crimes, the international community must not remain silent. We call upon the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into these acts of brutality, ensuring that all perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice. Furthermore, we urge the government of India to unequivocally denounce these acts of violence and take immediate steps to address the underlying issues of ethnic tension and discrimination within the region.
In this critical moment, we stand in solidarity with the brave heroes who have lost their lives, and we commend the Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) for their unwavering support in the fight against injustice. We call upon all individuals and organizations to join us in condemning these despicable acts and advocating for a just and civilized society where such atrocities are not tolerated.
