BACA wrote to our supporters just before Christmas and explained how the orphans of Shama and Shahzad a Christian couple burned alive in a brick kiln, were seeking two laptops to help with their education.  Read more (here)

BACA have remained very much a part of this families life from the beginning of the childrens’ troubled life without their parents.

Our live-in-nanny funded through your donations has ensured the three children have had a maternal figure in their lives and they love her to bits.  Our officers regularly visit the family to make sure they are growing strong as a unit and individuals. When concerns were raised about missed on-line school lessons due to a lack of computers, by both the children and their grandfather Mukhtar Masih, we wanted to meet their need.  Suleman tried to attend some classes by using a smart phone belonging to his cousin but it was not always available.  For a child that loves to learn and is excelling at his school this was quite painful.

We wanted to purchase new computers for them, knowing full well the second-hand systems on sale in Pakistan are often fraught with problems.  Moreover, our purchases come with a two year warranty and free support during the warranty period, which the family will find useful.  Of course, new computers cost a lot and we had to trust God that we could raise the finance for a successful project end.

Beautifully wrapped gifts were put before the adorable children.

We had a very good response from all of you and were able  to not only buy computers, but battery operated computer holders with fans and two sets of headphones too. The children really love their new gifts and have already assured us that the priority use for the computers will be for learning, but even then we will not begrudge the young children some time for more leisurely pursuits on the new equipment.  Their good behaviour deserves it.  You can see for yourselves how conscientious and patient these children are when opening the gifts so they could preserve the wrapping papers for future use.

Two sets of headphones and two laptop holders with fans were also given.

We delivered the gifts on 15th January 2022, which was an exciting moment for Suleman, Sonia and Poonam.  You can see in the video that we have uploaded that they were extremely happy to have their new laptops especially from our officer who has the family’s confidence and trust.  Suleman, said:

“Thank you to everyone who has helped get this computer for me.

“It will help me a lot with my education and I promise to work hard and do well in my studies.”

From a young age Suleman has said that he wants to be a lawyer so he can fight for the rights of persecuted Christians.  Whatever God has planned for his life the new computer will definitely make his educational goals easier to achieve.

Suleman’s  joy had no bounds and as he opened the gift box, he exclaimed:

“I am super happy to have  received the computer – God is good!”

Sonia and Poonam were also very excited and we caught the moment in video for you:

Juliet Chowdhry, Trustee for British Asian Christian Association, said:

“We have been a pivotal part of the progress of this family since their loss.

“We have seen the children develop and it is heart-warming to see how well behaved and hard working they are.

“Their lives could have come to an abrupt end when some of the 3000 strong Muslim mob called for the children to be killed.

“But we believe God rescued them for a purpose and already Suleman has a desire will do great things for the wider Christian family.

“Whatever happens, we are inspired by their love of God despite the great tragedy that befell them.”

BACA has always stepped in to fill in regular and emergency needs for the family and you will all no doubt remember when the children had a problem with an infestation with bed bugs last year.  We paid for a pest-controller to remove the infestation and bought new beds for the children, removing a horrid discomfort that had reduced the morale of the children.  Read more (here) and (here).

We could not support this family or the many others we support without your help. Every donation you give makes our efforts to help persecuted Christians in South Asia possible.  Big or small your help is appreciated and we again share details for our donations platform, so that more of you can join us in advancing Christs Kingdom and supporting believers.  So if you have been moved by this or any of our other reports please donate (here) so we can make a change together.
