Aleeza Masih (5 yrs) was only 1.5 years old when she survived the brutal terrorist attack on Quetta Church on 17th December 2017, (click here).
The attack on Bethel Memorial Methodist Church during a Nativity service, killed 9 people and would have been worse had it not been for the bravery of volunteer Christian security officers (click here).
Aleeza Masih lost her right leg and bowels after a large piece of shrapnel embedded itself in her limb. An initial operation left her in a critical state after hospital workers failed to clean her wound properly and gangrene set in.

BACA stepped in and funded a second operation and Aleeza’s life was saved thanks to the significant donations of our supporters.

On 8th January 2022 we appealed to our donors to help with the cost for a new prosthetic limb, as Aleeza’s regular growth requires a new one to be modelled and fit every six months. Read more (here)
Thankfully after our most recent appeal donors helped us cover the costs of the new limb for Aleeza, and the new limb was fitted on 20th January 2022. Read more (here).
Since Aleeza received her previous leg in January 2022 she has grown significantly, a new leg was due in June 2022 but we have been delayed with this article, traying to catch up with a backlog.
Aleeza’s father has recently called our operations manager and has informed him that Aleeza urgently needs a new leg because the previous prosthetic leg hurts now when she walks.
Ashiq Masih (52 yrs) father of Aleeza spoke to BACA, he said:
“Despite her disability, Aleeza is a loving and friendly child and has no anger against those who took away her leg.
“She loves to play and dance and is a confident and energetic child.
“In church she is quite active, she loves to learn and recite bible verses.
“Her Sunday school teacher is always telling us how spiritual she is for someone so young.
“Aleeza studies at ‘Excellence English Medium School” and has passed her pre-nursury with very good grades.
“She has been promoted to nursery class and she is very happy.
“We thank all the donors and God for making sure Aleeza has been able to continue living a normal life despite the tragedy and trauma of the attack we survived.”
Juliet Chowdhry, trustee for the British Asian Christian Association, said:
“Aleeza has coped remarkably well despite the loss of her leg.
“The scars of the Quetta Church Attack seem very distant in her life.
“Her spiritual growth has been remarkable for her age and she aspires to live a life that glorifies God.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to bless this child with help towards her rehabilitation.”
Ashiq Masih has requested further financial support for the new prosthetic leg. The cost of the leg including travel and stay to the hospital will be £400.
