Aleeza Masih (5 yrs) was only 1.5 years old when she survived the brutal terrorist attack on Quetta Church on 17th December 2017,  (click here).

The attack on Bethel Memorial Methodist Church during a Nativity service, killed 9 people and would have been worse had it not been for the bravery of volunteer Christian security officers (click here).

Aleeza Masih lost her right leg and bowels after a large piece of shrapnel embedded itself in her limb. An initial operation left her in a critical state after hospital workers failed to clean her wound properly and gangrene set in.

BACA stepped in and funded a second operation and Aleeza’s life was saved thanks to the significant donations of our supporters.

On 8th January 2022 we appealed to our donors to help with the cost for a new prosthetic limb, as Aleeza’s regular growth requires a new one to be modelled and fit every six months.  Read more (here)

Thankfully after our most recent appeal donors helped us cover the costs of the new limb for Aleeza Masih years), and the new limb was fitted on 20th January 2022.

British Asian Christian Association covered the costs for the sizing and fitting of Aleeza’s new prosthetic leg and all travelling expenses to Karachi .

Ashiq Masih (52 yrs) father of Aleeza, said:

“Aleeza is growing fast and we have to replace her leg twice a year.

“After every four months Aleeza begins to feel pain in her back and legs and this is our indicator that she requires a new prosthetic.

“On our meagre wages we could not afford to change her prosthetic so often and we are really grateful to all of you have helped us over the last few years.

“Aleeza is a happy child overall and this is because she has faith in God.

“He has enabled her to live a full life without her limb – we thank Him for His grace and mercy.”

Aleeza goes to “Excellence English Medium School” and studies in a pre-play group. She walks to school and enjoys playing with her friends in school and at home.

Aleeza also attends Sunday School at her local  church. She has learnt to pray by herself and can often be heard  thanking the Lord for saving her life. Aleeza has made it very clear to her family and friends and our officers at British Asian Christian Association, that she wants to become a doctor. It is her desire to help deprived families to get necessary medical help just as so many have helped her family.

Ashiq Masih, added:

“Aleeza  loves dancing at family celebrations.

“When went to visit a potential suitor  for my elder daughter Eesha Aleeza was with us.

“No-one realised she had a false limb until she told them and showed the family.

“It gives us great pleasure to know that she will not be stigmatised by her leg as most people are simply not aware.

“God is a healer and provider may his name be praised.”

Aleeza has resumed her classes at  school recently after winter holidays. She has proven to be a keen and dedicated student and is displaying excellent result in class tests. We have great hopes that she will do well in her exams in April and for the proceeding years and believe she is capable of achieving her role as a doctor.   She has proven to be a strong and resilient character and God has special plans for her we are sure.  Even than we call for people to pray a blessing into the life of this remarkable child, whose very existence is a miracle considering the severe wounds she suffered at such a young age.

Aleeza will be seeking a new replacement limb in June 2022 and you can help with these costs with an early donation.  Alternatively, please do donate to the regular work of British Asian Christian Association, by donating (here)
